Why I Love Shih Tzu Dogs? One Word - SHOTGUN
SHOTGUN is my dogs name, he's black and white. He was a lost puppy or was abandoned and came onto my job site. I tried to give him away 3 times that first day but nobody would take him so I took him home and I was hooked. He rides to work with me everyday because he has separation anxiety.
SHOTGUN is so cool, yes that's it - he's cool! We have some ferral cats around and he loves to chase them. He won't hurt them, he just pushes them in the butt with his head in a playful manner. Now the cats finally have him figured out, they hardly run now. He is also really fearless, he will stand up to big dogs, even though this really scares me to no end.
I have never loved a dog this much. I feel like he's my best friend and my protector because he will bark when I am alone and sombody walks in on us. That's the only time he barks except, with the cats. Shotgun is not one of those yappy, nervous dogs that barks at everything. Everybody I work with likes this dog and he likes everybody as well. Another thing he does is let me know if I haven't fed his buddys - the cats! I say to him, "you want me too feed the cats?" and he starts jumping and barking and actually pushes me toward the cat food.
He also sleeps with me. He's quiet and doesn't bother me until I wake up - of course. I let him out every morning - if I don't, he will give me the stare! He makes me laugh everyday and I am sure he has added years to my life. I am 51, he's 1. Now I pray we live a long time together. I don't want to think of living without him. I know it sounds crazy but this is a very special dog. Shotgun is pure love and he is totally devoted to me (and the cats)!!
