This is dog cruelty

I was looking to buy a dog like this but when i read about the problems they have I think it is very cruel to breed them. I had a shih tzu that weighed about 15lbs. I loved him dearly. He lived 18yrs.

People do really cruel things to animals just to make a little money and I think it is terrible. I did not realize that these dogs could have problems because they are so small.

I should have put in my comment that I was mainly talking about the imperial and the teacup shih tzu. most all of the regular size shih tzu i have seen have been pretty healthy. I was reading about the breeders that try to have the smallest dog they can have and how many problems they have

I understand what you are saying as I bought a shihtzu years ago with so many problems he only lived to be 7 yrs old.

Before I bought another, I did research on reputable breeders & now have 2 of them. One is 13 & the other only a year or so. No problems right now so reputable breeders are the key
