Shih Tzu Poodle - Shih-Poo

The Shih Tzu Poodle is a popular Shih Tzu mix, also known as the Shih-Poo.

Shih Tzu PoodleThis mixed breed is a cross between the Shih Tzu and the Poodle. The American Canine Hybrid Club recognizes the Shih Tzu Poodle.

The Shih-Poo's weight is normally 5-15 pounds and their height is generally 10-15 inches at the shoulder.

The Shih-Poo's coat can be found almost in any color or combination of colors.

In addition, the coat can be very curly, very straight or somewhere in between. Even though the coat is very long, Shih-Poo's don't shed much and are considered a hypoallergenic dog. If you are into topknots, then the long hair found on a Shih Tzu Poodle will be plenty long enough.

The Shih-Poo is very intelligent and smart. They generally are easily trained and housebroken. This designer breed is alert, friendly and gets along excellent with children and other pets. The average life expectancy for the Shih Tzu Poodle is 12-18 years.

If you currently own a Shih Tzu Poodle, please visit the Shih Tzu Mix page to tell everyone about your hybrid dog and to share your photos.
