How to gain my shih tzu's appetite?

My shih tzu, named Cristabel suddenly lost her appetite. She is 8 months old, but her weight is only 4 kilos. She can only consume 1 cup a day and she eats little by little. I went to her vet, I regularly de-wormed her every 3 mos, and I followed all the instruction of her vet. Then we used to try to give my shih tzu a medicine to gain her appetite but nothing happened. I'm so worried if this situation will continue..pls help me..

What are you feeding your puppy? Same thing happened with one of my friends. I gave her some of my dog food & the dog is eating, & healthy now.
I feed my dogs A Taste of the Wild, Salmon. Try a little bag & see. Hope it works.

 Had the same problem

My pup (now 2) had the same problem when she was a pup. I put her on all natural food (Wellness brand) and problem solved. She gained weight quickly, but overweight. When she reached adult (one year) I put her to one feeding a day and she slimmed down to a perfect size. Because it is a big span of time to eat, I give her a wellness biscuit in the morning and that holds her over until dinner at 5. Also, I researched all the natural brands before deciding on Wellness. Everything I read said that having her on natural food will keep away the tear stains and give her good breath. She has been on it for two years and has never had tear staining and her breath is always sweet. She is a white dog too, so I would not like the staining to happen. Yeah, natural food is a bit more expensive, but it is a tiny stomach you are filling, so it won't break you. Another good tip is a hanging water bottle to keep their faces clean and water fresh. They make them big size for dogs, it is the best. My dog won't even drink out of a bowl anymore. Good luck and enjoy your dog. They are pure love.
